The Blues manager Enzo Maresca confirmed on the final weekday that Cole Palmer is available for selection for the squad's vital top-flight fixture against local rivals Arsenal.

The young England midfielder was out of action due to a fractured toe incurred after an unfortunate incident.

“He is fit to begin and feature,” Maresca commented. “All involved are pleased.”

This season, Palmer has featured in just four games across all competitions, scoring twice.

After joining from City in the previous year, he has achieved 45 strikes and 29 setups in 101 matches for Chelsea.

“He is our best player, we are happy he is back, we need to allow him time to be 100% fit,” Maresca continued. “His past performances have been excellent and no doubt he is going to do exceptionally well for this club in the future.”

Everton have failed in their challenge against Idrissa Gueye's dismissal for a fight with teammate Michael Keane during the team's narrow win at Manchester United.

The veteran Senegalese midfielder was dismissed just 13 minutes into the contest after hitting Keane during a dispute over a poor pass.

Gueye promptly expressed regret, and the pair appeared making up later in a light-hearted online video.

However, the appeal against the red card was turned down, and Gueye must complete a three-match ban, leaving Everton shorthanded for their upcoming fixture against Newcastle.

“We lodged an appeal and it was unsuccessful,” manager the manager revealed. “We haven’t been given any reason why it was turned down but we did appeal it.”

When asked about more issues from the incident, Moyes added: “The matter was resolved instantly, it was done, that was it, we progressed swiftly and it was all sorted within the dressing room.”

3. Wissa Trains with The Magpies for Initial Session since Injury

The club's recent acquisition Yoane Wissa has practiced with his squad for the first time since sustaining a knee injury shortly after his move from Brentford in the autumn.

Manager Eddie Howe announced the development on Friday but did not disclose a potential return date for the 29-year-old.

The Hammers head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has claimed that the reigning champions' recent poor form “should not be a focus” as his side gets ready to face the struggling Premier League title holders.

Nottingham Forest's manager Sean Dyche is optimistic that Morgan Gibbs-White will be available for the team's at home match against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

The English player was absent for Thursday's European game against Malmö due to a back injury.

“Fortunately, it seems to be calming down,” Dyche commented as he got ready to face the Brighton manager's team, who have taken a decent haul from their last three outings.

“It’s like a bad back, but a morning sort of injury, one where you just sleep funny or move improperly. So we’re not expecting, at this point anyway, that it’s very severe and it’s settling down already. So we’re hopeful that it’ll be right for the weekend.”

Murillo was feeling his hamstring muscle after the comfortable European win, but Dyche indicated the player “will likely be available”.

However, Ola Aina (thigh injury), Douglas Luiz (thigh), Dilane Bakwa (hamstring), the striker (knee), and the defender (hip) are likely to miss out.

6. Glasner: Conference League Loss Won't Hinder Palace

The Eagles manager Oliver Glasner feels that the setback of midweek's Conference League loss to Strasbourg is a sign of how much progress the team has come in competing on two fronts.

Glasner confirmed that Borna Sosa would not be available for Sunday's game after he did not travel to France, but Will Hughes, who went off during the first half against the opponents, is expected to be in the matchday squad.
