The visionary game developer, the mind behind the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a car accident in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

His passing was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.

The influential video game developer died after his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, as reported by.

"We are facing a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
