English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

These three athletes have been recognised for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

This year's winner will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The show will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

Michelle Agyemang

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this honour is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for the honour once more is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.

"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
